First of all! Really, really thanks dbatools team for this. I don’t have words to describe the impact that you guys have in my job. I use it every single day!
Now… back to the subject..
Those days I was preparing myself for a presentation and started to play around with Online Services Content Packs and decided to use the GitHub App Connector that is available.
In the left bottom of the Power BI area you have the Get Data option.
Once the page is opened you should choose Services and click on GET.
In the search bar just type Github. In the Github connector click on Get it now

The very last SQL Saturday in Europe of this year is taking place in Ljubljana – Slovenia and I can glady say that I will be there, and even better, I am going to be a speaker.
I would say that most of my readers already know what is SQL Saturday, but if you don’t, just go directly to SQL Saturday Home Page, where you can find a very easy explanation to it.
Personaly, I think that SQL Saturday’s are a great opportunity to learn something new in your carrer. For example. nowadays the majority of the sessions that I go are about Database Lifecycle management. However, SQL Saturday’s are also good to meet new people, hear from the experts, etc.. So please, go to the event page and register it, as there will be plenty of great sessions!
When you have a consolidated environment, usually you don’t want to set very broad permissions to users, most of the times you only want them to see what is really necessary.
Doing that in the Database Engine is quite easy, but what about Reporting Services? We know that SSRS exposes the following default roles: Browser, Content Manager, My Reports, Publisher and Report Builder. However, for me sometimes those roles offer too much to the user.
What people usually don’t know is that you can connect to your SSRS Instance using SQL Server Management Studio and then create customized roles. So, let me show you how to do it. Read the rest of this entry
Espero que vocês estejam bem e rodando tudo em Cloud!

First of all, I want to thank everyone at my session at SQL Saturday 689 in Prague this last weekend. It was a tremendous pleasure for me to present and share a bit of what I know with all of you.
I also want to say THANK YOU to the Czech BI & SQL Pass User Group for putting this amazing event to the community, I know how much work and effort has to be done to have such a great event. You treated not only myself but all the speakers so well, so thanks again for having me! You guys are great!
I also want to say THANK YOU to the Sponsors, with all your support the event was just awesome!
As I promised during my presentation, I would write this post to share the link to where you can download most of the resources used by myself during the presentation.
I would like to also ask you a bit of your time to fill up the session evaluation. This means a lot to all the speakers. Doing that, it helps all of us speakers to improve our presentation, subjects, demos and etc.. Please, please, please!! Do it! The link is below.
Thanks again and see you in 2018!

Read the rest of this entry
Did you hear the news?
Microsoft is changing its Service Model for SQL Server and the major difference is that Service Packs will be no longer released starting on SQL Server 2017. However, this doesn’t mean that you no longer will have new features and product enhancements, rather than they will release new features and so on in Cumulative Updates.
Why are they doing this for SQL Server 2017? Well, in my personal opinion I believe that with major product versions being released almost every year or two years, they want to be faster in terms of releasing new fixes, launching new features and so on. Read the rest of this entry
